CONNER LAYNE is on top of the world. He is graduating high school as valedictorian of his class and receiving a full scholarship to attend college at Cal Berkeley in the fall. Even better, he's about to marry his long time childhood sweetheart, Kate, the perfect girl, and begin a new life with her.
